Well, that depends. What exactly is resilience?
The dictionary says that resilience is the ability to bounce back from a set-back. Like when you press a balloon under water and then let go, it bounces back up. That’s resilience.
When people ask me my strongest desire as a parent, I often respond that I want my son, Raif, be emotionally resilient.
I want him to be able to bounce back from pressures. From struggles. From difficulties.
I want him to understand that — like turbulence in an airplane — no matter how jarring a feeling might be in the moment, it’s not going to last forever and it’s going to be okay.
